Led by owners and directors Warren Davie and Tony Smith, our skilled team have over 75 years combined experience in technology-based fire and security systems.

Rhino Fire and Security has been part of the Canterbury fire and security landscape since 1990. Originally called J&S Fire and Security, Warren and Tony recently re-branded the company to Rhino due to the strength, reliability and durability associated with that name.

As security is becoming a high-tech industry, our focus is to keep our feet on the ground so you have real people to talk to about your fire and security needs. Of course, being in a technology based industry means we have to keep up with the latest developments, while our security experts attend regular training workshops to keep current with the latest advancements.

We are also members of the New Zealand Security Association (NZSA) and work in accordance with their guidelines, rules, standards and codes of practice for your complete peace of mind.

Warren Davie – Company Director and General Manager

With more than 25 years experience in security, if anyone can get the job done right, Warren can! Warren started in security as an installation technician and went on to become the National Manager for a major corporate security company in Australasia.

In 2006, Warren was offered the opportunity to join J&S Fire and Security. Being Canterbury born and bred, Warren saw this as a great chance to return to Christchurch with his family and pursue his dream to run his own business.

Tony Smith – Company Director and Sales Manager

Tony has more than 20 years experience in the security industry. Being an electrician by trade and with years of experience as an Alarm Technician, Tony very quickly came to grips with the ever-changing technology of the security industry and eventually became the Southern Area Manager for one of NZ’s major corporate security companies.

His strong customer focus and project management experience makes him the perfect person to manage the company’s sales and customer service, as well as being able to customize a fire or security solution to meet your needs.
